Elder Roberta Price

Elder Roberta PriceElder Roberta Price is from the Coast Salish Snuneymuxw (SNA-NEIGH-MUH) and Cowichan Nations. She has worked for many years as an elder for the Richmond, Delta and Burnaby School Districts, as well as in the Elder Visiting Program at BC Womenís and Childrenís Hospital, where she has given service to many families. Roberta is also elder-in-residence with VCH Aboriginal Wellness Program. For 33 years, she has facilitated cultural teaching circles in Lower Mainland schools, in communities, St. Paulís Hospital, the UBC Learning Exchange and wherever she is called upon.

Elder Roberta is the co-principal investigator for Critical Research in Health and Health Care Inequities (CriHHCI) in the CIHR-granted Equip ER Study at the University of British Columbia's School of Nursing. She is now in her second year as adjunct professor in the UBC Post Graduate Program, Department of Family Practice and will serve as the indigenous co-lead-elder for the family medicine residency program. Roberta is respectfully involved in many other initiatives within health care, social services and education. She is the mother of four children and grandmother of eight.
