Jayne began her interest in pre-hospital care in 2001 when she became a volunteer member of the Ness Lake Fire Department in Prince George and obtained her EMA license as a first responder. This sparked her interest in emergency medicine which led to her starting her career with BCEHS/APBC in 2008 as a Primary Care Paramedic in Prince Rupert. Here she provided patient care for six years in unique and dynamic settings involving air, land, and sea response over much of the North Coast.
In 2014, she transitioned to working full-time in a metropolitan setting based out of Burnaby where she also quickly became a member of the APBC Provincial Ceremonial Unit, a dedicated volunteer group where she is also currently completing a 2-year term as an Executive for Logistics & Finance. Jayne also became a member of the BCEHS/APBC CIS Peer Team in the fall of 2019.
In January of 2020, after 3 years of pursuing further education and mentorship in the field of paramedicine, Jayne began a new role as an Advanced Care Paramedic and is currently stationed in the Metro Vancouver area out of Richmond.
